Nathan Alexander Mueller

Portrait of Nathan Alexander Mueller

I am an Associate Professor of Great Texts and Philosophy at Saint Constantine College in Houston, TX.

I completed my PhD in the Department of Philosophy at Baylor University in 2026.

My research focuses on social epistemology and epistemic normativity. In my dissertation, On the Epistemic Significance of the Social: Towards a Constrained Epistemic Norm Contextualism, I defended a view I call epistemic norm contextualism, on which our epistemic norms are (i) not reducible to doxastic norms, (ii) grounded in the epistemic values endorsed by the epistemic communities of which we are members, and (iii) legitimately variable between epistemic communities.

I also maintain interests in philosophy of education and philosophy of religion.
